The Seahawks lost to the Ravens in week seven 30-16 and the grades for Seattle reflect just how bad of a loss it was. Here they are.

Soon 12s can put the loss by the Seahawks in week seven behind them. Seattle lost to the Ravens in ugly and very un-Seahawk-like fashion. The final was 30-16 but in many ways it felt much worse. Here the grades from Seattle’s loss.

Offense

Quarterback

Russell Wilson had by far his worst game of 2019. He threw an awful pick-six interception to Marcus Peters that changed the game. Wilson was 20 of 41 for that pick and a touchdown. But the touchdown pass was simply a great catch by Tyler Lockett, so…OK, Wilson was under pressure a ton, but he had a bad game.

Grade: C-

Running backs

Carson didn’t really have a chance. He ran for 65 yards on 21 carries behind bad blocking. C.J. Prosise has one carry for 17 yards. Rashaad Penny was healthy and wasn’t asked to do anything looking more and more like a first round bust.

Grade: C

Wide receivers/tight ends

Oh, Will Dissly, where art thou? Hurt and out, that’s where. Wilson missed you as did the offense overall. Tyler Lockett was OK with that great touchdown catch. Jaron Brown dropped a potential touchdown reception, though. And D.K. Metcalf had an embarrassing fumble with the score 23-13 that was returned for a touchdown.

Grade: D

Offensive line

This was the first week the Seahawks clearly missed left tackle Duane Brown. A team can only go so long without its best players and without Brown the line simply isn’t as good. Wilson was under pressure and the running game was stunted.

Grade: D

Defense

Defensive line

Jarran Reed was back and had a couple of decent plays. Jadeveon Clowney needed some help that he hasn’t gotten all season. He’s been worthy of the offseason trade to get him but the Seahawks haven’t been worthy of him. Seattle had one sack when Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson slipped. Otherwise, same as it ever was for this underperforming line.

Grade: C-

Linebackers

Mychal Kendricks was really good in limited time in 2018 but has 13 missed tackles this year. That isn’t good. Bobby Wagner is beginning to look older. And every linebacker looked slow against Jackson. The second half defense was a failure.

Grade: C

Secondary

A mixed bag here. Tedric Thompson got beat on a 50 yard pass over his head. Now Seattle has traded for Quandre Diggs to basically replace him. But Tre Flowers had a big hit and a pass breakup and is beginning to prove the promise he showed in 2018. Shaquill Griffin was solid again.

Grade: B

Special teams

Next. Should Seahawks trade for OJ Howard?. dark

Jason Myers missed a 53-yard field goal. That was no gimme, but the Seahawks signed him to a big contract this offseason to make those kicks and he hasn’t been consistent enough to do so. At least Michael Dickson is beginning to punt like he did last year. He had three punts for an average of 51.3 yards.
