Several players are injured for both the Seahawks and Falcons as they play in week 8. Who among these will find a way to play?

There is some hope, 12s, that your beloved Seahawks will get a bit healthier on the offensive line in week 8. While Duane Brown (biceps), Germain Ifedi (knee) and George Fant (something I can’t remember) missed time this week in practice, only Ifedi seems pretty unlikely to play against the Falcons.

And to be fair, that is only a guess based on practice participation. Ifedi missed practice on Thursday and Friday and when a player misses practice late in the week, that is a bad sign. Brown and Fant were full participants in Friday’s practice so that gives me warm feelings. Brown has missed the last couple of games and Seattle needs him back badly.

Chances are if Ifedi cannot play then Fant could slide into right tackle or the Seahawks move Jamarco Jones to right tackle and D.J. Fluker plays right guard.

The problem for Seattle again comes in the secondary. Bradley McDougald is still having back issues and recently acquired Quandre Diggs has a hamstring problem. Lano Hill has already been ruled out with an elbow injury. Seattle also has cornerback Tre Flowers listed as questionable. This might mean Marquise Blair and Tedric Thompson play at safety again. You remember Thompson, right? He’s the guy who keeps getting beat downfield. Matt Ryan might be salivating right now.

Seattle has also ruled out defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson with an oblique problem. Jefferson is having his best season so far and will be missed.

Coach Pete Carroll seemed optimistic that edge rusher Ziggy Ansah will be able to play against the Falcons. Carroll said on Friday that Ansah “looks likely to be part of (the game).” So yay! I think. Ansah has missed as much time as he has played so far in 2019 so he should be let go via free agency after the season because Seattle simply cannot rely on him.

Maybe the Seahawks should trade for a Falcons tight end?. dark. Next

The Falcons might be without Ryan who hurt his ankle last week against the Rams. But he likely will play. He’s not extremely mobile anyway and Seattle gets no pressure on any quarterback so Ryan might put up just as good of numbers as he would if he were completely healthy. Atlanta will be without cornerback Desmond Trufant, though, so have yourself a day, Russell Wilson!
