The Seahawks lost center Justin Britt for the season against the Falcons. But Seattle might get some other players back in week 9 versus Tampa Bay.

Every NFL team goes through attrition as far as injuries go during a season. The Seahawks haven’t been without Russell Wilson or Bobby Wagner, thankfully, but each week they seem to miss a few key players. Seattle just simply can’t get all the players in the right positions right now.

Seattle will be without center Justin Britt for the rest of the year. Britt tore his ACL in the first half against the Falcons in week 8. Britt is a good player and a good run blocker and he will be missed. Joey Hunt will replace him. Hunt is a smart player who knows the offense well but does not have Britt’s size.

There is positive injury news for the Seahawks, though. Seattle missed cornerback Tre Flowers against Atlanta as the Falcons threw for 460 yards. But Flowers is likely to return against the Buccaneers on Sunday. He missed the Falcons game with a shoulder injury.

Seattle could also get safety Bradley McDougald back full time against Tampa Bay. McDougald missed most of the Falcons game with back spasms and all of the previous week. Marquise Blair has played well at safety the last two weeks so it would be fun to see Blair lined up with McDougald.

Recently acquired safety Quandre Diggs could also play against the Buccaneers. Diggs has a hamstring issue. Having Blair, McDougald and Diggs all available might make for too many safeties but after having so many players missing games at the position lately, too many safeties is a good problem to have.

Finally, the Seahawks might get some help at tight end. After losing Will Dissly for the season with a knee injury, Seattle has been trying to find the right tight end combination. Veteran Ed Dickson is eligible to come off of Injured Reserve this week and was solid in limited time last year with Seattle. Hopefully, he can come back and make a few big plays the rest of the season.
