The Seahawks gave the Wednesday injury statuses ahead of Sunday’s week 9 Buccaneers game. Several starters were on the list of those not participating.

The Seahawks announced Wednesday that safety Tedric Thompson would be placed on Injured Reserve and likely miss the rest of the season. But Seattle also had a bunch of players missing practice altogether on Wednesday ahead of week nine’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers contest.

Those players not participating in practice included starters Mike Iupati (knee) and Al Woods (neck). Woods is the easier of the two to replace as Poona Ford and Jarran Reed form a pretty impressive interior duo of their own. And this is if Woods can’t play.

Iupati might simply be rested ahead of the game. Many times Seattle rests older players just to give them a break. Iupati doesn’t really need the practice; He is more valuable in the games, of course. If Iupati is really too injured to play, he likely would be replaced by Jamarco Jones.

Safety Quandre Diggs (hamstring), defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson (oblique) and Lano Hill (elbow) also didn’t take part in practice and seem unlikely to play against Tampa Bay at this point. They all missed the game in week 8 against the Falcons.

Limited in practice but likely to play and just being given a rest were Bobby Wagner, Tyler Lockett, Ziggy Ansah, Duane Brown, Chris Carson and K.J. Wright. I shudder to think what would happen if the Seahawks actually had to play a game without all these players. It would be bad. Very bad.

Next. A defensive coordinator change in Seattle? Maybe.. dark

Seattle also had Russell Wilson, Marquise Blair and Tre Flowers listed on the injury report but all were listed as full participants. This means they should all play on Sunday. Can you imagine Seattle without Wilson, Lockett and Carson? If you can, why do that  to yourself?
