The Seahawks play the Buccaneers in week 9. Here is how to see the game unfold and what exactly you might see on Sunday afternoon.

The Seahawks are 6-2. Tampa Bay is 2-5. But the Buccaneers are very capable of beating Seattle on Sunday. In fact, the Buccaneers did so in 2016 14-5 when Seattle still had Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman. Earl Thomas missed that game with an injury.

When I was at the game in 2016 in Tampa, I thought there is no way that Seattle should lose this game. The Buccaneers got off to a two touchdown lead quickly and the Seahawks simply could not catch up. Tampa Bay’s defense was great that day and Seattle’s was not.

The problem for Seattle is the same kind of matchup possibly exists for this Sunday. Tampa Bay still has Jameis Winston and Mike Evans and their defense, on paper, has a solid from four. If the Buccaneers can get out to a quick lead, the Seahawks could be in trouble.

My hope is that Seattle will decide to use Russell Wilson often and early and put the run on the back-burner. Tampa Bay is good against the run and their defensive weakness is defending the pass. Brian Schottenheimer, please use your best player fully this week.

On the other side, Winston is interception-prone. Seattle needs to muster some kind of pass rush and force Winston to make a mistake. If the Seahawks can get turnovers, they will win. If they can’t, they won’t.
