Seahawks vs. Buccaneers: 5 questions about Tampa Bay with The Pewter Plank
By Lee Vowell
If you want to know know more about the Seahawks week 9 foe, the Buccaneers, here are five questions with FanSided’s Bucs site, The Pewter Plank.
The Seahawks are 6-2 and face a Buccaneers team that is 2-5. On paper, Seattle should win. But if Seattle learned its lesson from 2016 they know that Tampa Bay can beat the best of Seattle teams. And Tampa Bay coach Bruce Arians knows how to beat the Seahawks in Seattle.
To find out more about the Buccaneers, I asked five questions to Cory Kinnan, expert at FanSided’s Buccaneers site, The Pewter Plank. These are his answers and info on Seattle’s week 9 opponent.
12th Man Rising: Jameis Winston has had an odd career in Tampa Bay but has beaten the Seahawks once. His overall record his bad. Is he the long-term starter in Tampa Bay and, if so, how does he get better?
Cory Kinnan: That is still up in the air. Obviously he does not have a long term deal yet with nine weeks to go in the season; it seems like Winston’s best bet is to see a franchise tag and give himself one more year to prove he can be the franchise quarterback in Tampa Bay.
They made a steep investment in him back in 2015 with the first overall pick, so the Buccaneers want to make sure they have crossed every “t” and dotted ever “i” before they jump ship on Winston. Bruce Arians was supposed to be the quarterback whisperer, but thus far Winston is on pace for the worst season of his career.
The clock is ticking, but there has not been any indication one way or the other as to whether or not Winston will be back in 2020.
