The Seahawks could move to 7-2 against a mediocre Buccaneers team on Sunday. But only if these three players play well in week 9.

The 6-2 Seahawks are fairly healthy and facing a Buccaneers team that can turn the ball over. Tampa Bay, of course, blew out the Rams earlier this season so they are very capable of beating Seattle too. If Seattle moves to 7-2 in week 9, it is because they played well enough to do so.

Here are three players who need to have good games for Seattle to win.

Tyler Lockett

Tampa bay run blitzes a lot and can stop the run. In 2019, the Buccaneers are first in the NFL in average yards allowed rushing per game giving up just 68.6 yards a contest. But the Buccaneers are 31st in yards allowed per game passing at 285.9. Tampa bay has given up the 7th most passing touchdowns. This means if Seattle is smart they will use Russell Wilson’s arm a bunch.

A lot of those throw should go to Tyler Lockett. Lockett is on pace for well over 1,000 yards receiving this season and knows how to beat his man deep with his speed and route-running. Lockett will be open on Sunday and Wilson needs to hit him. Lockett should have at least three explosive plays against Tampa Bay.

Tre Flowers

The Buccaneers are going to throw quite a bit and Seahawks corner Shaquill Griffin is having a great season. This means that Jameis Winston might target Flowers on Sunday. Winston is tied for the most interceptions thrown in 2019 with 12. He is also 7th with 14 touchdowns thrown so he can beat the other team or his own team. Flowers will get his chances to get beat or get a pick in week 9. Let’s hope he gets 2 interceptions.

Next. 5 questions about the Buccaneers as they play the Seahawks. dark

Ziggy Ansah

Don’t blame Jadeveon Clowney for the Seahawks lack of pass rush; He has been very good this season and should be re-signed. But Ansah has been hurt or ineffective and finally needs to play a great game. Through five games played, Ansah has just one sack and three quarterback hits. That equals failure for someone who is simply an edge rusher. Should Ansah be great against the Buccaneers, Seattle will win.
