Seahawks grades from shaky win over Buccaneers
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks continue to beat bad teams by close scores. Here are the grades from Seattle’s victory over Tampa Bay in week 9.
Hooray! The Seahawks are 7-2 and would make the playoffs were the season to end today. But boo! If Seattle loses a game soon they could be sent back to postseason purgatory. There are three NFC teams with just three losses while Seattle has two. Seattle will face each of those teams too, the Rams (again), the Panthers and the Vikings.
At this point, the Seahawks could win every game they are a part of. They could also lose every game. The difference? Russell Wilson. What a freak he is! His team is 7-2 and he has thrown for 22 touchdowns and has thrown just one pick. Any team with a lesser mortal at quarterback would be 2-7. Wilson has also run for three touchdowns, but hey! Who is keeping track? Oh, we are.
In Seattle’s victory over the now-2-6 Buccaneers, Wilson threw for five touchdowns. Just another day at the office. Now if the defensive pass rush could find a way to be half of what Wilson is, Seattle would be a Super Bowl contender. But they aren’t. You know why? The pass rush.
There are a few other important reason that Seattle had to go to overtime to defeat the Buccaneers, and I will get to those in just a minute. The Seahawks are not perfect, but they are 7-2. And here are their grades from their week 9 win over the Tampa Bay professional football team.
