The defense is going to show up, y’all!

The Seahawks defense gets a lot of heat for lacking…well, heat. Seattle supplies no pressure on the opposing quarterback consistently. Matt Schaub, who is basically a pillar of stone, was sacked just twice – kind of – in week 8 versus Seattle. If Stephen Hawking were the quarterback facing the Seahawks he would probably not get hit more than twice.

I don’t mean that last sentence as a jab to people who lack their fullest physical abilities. What I meant was that the Seahawks incredible lack of pass rush means that the Seattle defensive line seemingly lacks any physical ability at times. Except for Jadeveon Clowney. He is really good.

This week, though, I think Pete Carroll has a bit more input into the defensive game plan and dials up a few surprises, like a pass rush. Maybe Seattle actually plays less base 4-3 and more 1-8 or something like that. You know what I mean, right?

But I think the Seattle defense finally hears enough of how bad they are and actually contributes a verse to the 2019 Seahawks song that has been a lot of Russell Wilson solo and a lot less of the defensive chorus.
