The Seahawks gave their updated injury list for week 10’s huge game against the 49ers. If Seattle loses, it won’t be because players are hurt.

The Seahawks have held players out this week in anticipation of their biggest game of the season. Several starters have missed practice but it appears not because of significant injury. After practice on Saturday, Seattle listed just two players on their injury report.

Neither of those players are significant to Seattle’s offensive or defensive gameplans. Safety Lano Hill and rookie offensive lineman Phil Haynes are both listed as Questionable. Neither Hill or Haynes were likely to play anyway.

This means the Seahawks should have recently acquired receiver Josh Gordon and safety Quandre Diggs ready to play. Diggs might play safety or might play the slot. Or maybe he will bounce back between the two. Diggs’ versatility is going to help Seattle win games.

Gordon’s mere presence will help Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf. Lockett is having a Pro Bowl-type season. Metcalf is beginning to emerge. Gordon’s production during his career means an opposing team will have to pay him some attention and take that attention away from Lockett or Metcalf. That is good news.

For the 49ers, tight end George Kittle is listed as doubtful. He is one of the best tight ends in the NFL and his absence would be felt. San Francisco can win without him, of course, but with Seattle healthy, the 49ers will need all their important players good to go too.

Next. But the Seahawks could lose.... dark

The most important thing is that Seattle is getting all of their offensive linemen back to play against a great 49ers pass rush. Having Duane Brown and others available means if Seattle loses they will not have the excuse of being banged up. This also means it is the Seahawks best against the 49ers best, minus Kittle. May the best team win.
