Seahawks have big injury concerns two days before Eagles game
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks have two days before they face the Eagles in an important week 11 game. But Seattle missed key players at practice on Friday.
Overall, the Seahawks injury report looks pretty clean. But specifically, not so much. Jadeveon Clowney, Seattle’s best defensive lineman so far in 2019 – and there isn’t a close second, is listed as questionable versus the Eagles for week 11. The game is on Sunday. This is Friday. Clowney being listed as questionable is bad.
Two other Seattle players were on Friday’s report. Luke Willson is out completely with a hamstring injury. And Neiko Thorpe, who has a had a fair share of injuries this season, is listed as questionable just like Clowney. Thorpe has a groin issue. Here are my guesses on who doesn’t play for Seattle this week.
Out
Neiko Thorpe
Luke Willson
John Ursua
Jaron Brown
C.J. Prosise
Phil Haynes
Akeem King
This means I think Clowney will play. But I could be completely wrong. The Eagles could easily be without receivers Alshon Jeffery (ankle injury) and Nelson Agholor (knee issue). This means Philadelphia might try to run a bit more. Clowney is good against the pass and great against the run. If he misses the game, that is really bad.
Brown and Ursua are not needed as Tyler Lockett appears good to go and Seattle has Josh Gordon and D.K. Metcalf to go along with Lockett. Prosise is a healthy scratch to make room for Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer. Haynes and King are just extra parts right now.
Eagles out and stuff
Already ruled out for the Eagles are safety Rudy Ford and tackle Lane Johnson. Johnson is the big name here. When he plays and Carson Wentz is the quarterback, Wentz is 25-13. But when Johnson isn’t on the field, Wentz is 3-9. Plus, Johnson’s replacement is rookie Andre Dillard who has never played right tackle before.
