Seahawks versus Eagles: Preview and how to watch
By Lee Vowell
The 8-2 Seahawks play the 5-5 Eagles in week 12. Here is what to watch for and how to see the game unfold.
The Seahawks are in second place in the NFC West with a decent shot at overtaking the 49ers for first place by the end of the year. Philadelphia is in second place in the NFC East with a decent chance of beating at the Cowboys for first place. The difference is what happens if Seattle loses as opposed to the Eagles.
Philadelphia is 5-5 and a loss would make their hopes of making the playoffs much dimmer. Seattle is 8-2 and while a loss might hurt their chances at winning their division, a loss would not eliminate Seattle from the playoffs. Seattle would still control their destiny and the Eagles would not.
Therefore, when Seattle takes on the Eagles the Seahawks will be facing a team battling for their playoff lives. That means the Eagles could be playing with even more motivation and would be at home. That makes a victory for Seattle more difficult.
However, if Russell Wilson plays as well as he has throughout 2019, he will put Seattle in a position to win a close game. But the biggest question is if Jadeveon Clowney plays. If he can’t go, Seattle will lose. But if he does, Seattle should win.
