No Seahawks ruled out versus Vikings but there are still injury concerns

The Seahawks don’t have any players ruled out due to injury versus the Vikings. But Seattle is not without injury concerns in week 13.

On Monday night, the Seahawks should be nearly as healthy as a team could expect going into week 13 of the NFL season. Seattle has lost some key players along the path to this point, like Will Dissly and Justin Britt, but this week Seattle should get back Jadeveon Clowney and no active Seattle player has been ruled out.

Clowney missed last week’s game versus the Eagles with a core muscle injury. This is something to keep an eye on because Clowney will have to play through the injury the rest of the year before having offseason surgery. Will the injury affect Clowney’s ability at all? Or will the injury get worse and require Clowney to shut his season down?

Clowney had an injury in his rookie year similar to what he is going through right now. In that 2014 year, Clowney was limited to just four games partly because of that injury.

Jarran Reed hurt his ankle against the Eagles but has been able to practice late in the week and should play Monday. Hopefully, Reed will be near 100 percent because the Vikings can run the ball well with Dalvin Cook. A healthy Reed can help stop Cook. Plus, Reed can get interior pressure on Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been getting work on a hamstring issue. Seattle runs a base defense of 4-3 and having all their good linebackers available is the reason they keep doing so. If Kendricks can’t play, it would change how the Seahawks play defense to some degree. Coach Pete Carroll said Kendricks will be a game-time decision.

Defensive tackle Al Woods has been a productive run-stuffer for Seattle in 2019. He has an ankle injury. But Carroll said he expects Woods to play.

Next. Three Seahawks that must do well against the Vikings. dark

There is a concern, though, in how many Seahawks missed practice due to illness this week. Poona Ford, Shaquem Griffin, Tyler Lockett, Jordan Roos, Tre Flowers and David Moore all missed time while being sick. If the illness was bad enough it could cause an issue with the stamina of these guys.
