Seahawks Round 1, Pick 28: Jedrick Willis, OT Alabama

This upcoming off-season for the Seahawks is pivotal for the offensive line. Germain Ifedi (above), George Fant, Joey Hunt and Mike Iupati are all set to hit free agency. This is far from a deep tackle class to say the least. However, at the front end of the draft there are some very quality players. Given the pressing need, I elected to go with a player who I believe will be ready from day 1, Jedrick Willis.

Willis has been one of the biggest risers of this draft so far and for good reason. Willis has some of the best functional strength in the draft. He plays with a heavy base making it very difficult to drive him back. He stands at 6’5” 320 pounds which is ideal for a right tackle.

His hand placement is very precise with an outstanding ability to recover from the initial defensive attack. He plays with a mean streak that sets the tone for the rest of the offensive line. His goal on every play is to get the other guy in the dirt.

Willis has the potential teams like, while still having enough refinement to his game to be a day 1 starter. This would be an ideal Seahawks first-round pick.
