Seahawks grades from week 17 loss to 49ers

Offense
Quarterback
Proving that quarterback ratings are crap, Russell Wilson finished with a QBR of 95.1 against the 49ers while his counterpart Jimmy Garoppolo finished at 118.8. Wilson has 2 touchdown passes to Garoppolo’s zero. Wilson also played behind a worse offensive line and without a proven running game. The Seahawks quarterback did what he could. He wasn’t perfect but he was good enough to win.
Grade: A-
Running backs
I am not sure what the Seahawks expected to get out of this group. Marshawn Lynch hadn’t played in over a year and was decent, including a 15-yard run, but not Chris Carson. Travis Homer actually was pretty good with 62 yards on 10 rushes and another 30 yards in receiving yards. Still, this will be a watered-down unit until next season.
Grade: B-
Receivers/tight ends
D.K. Metcalf had a touchdown on a nice catch but he and Hollister and Jaron Brown had 22 targets combined but just 10 receptions. That isn’t the kind of efficiency that is going to win a lot of games. Tyler Lockett had a good second half and finished with 6 catches on 7 targets for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Grade: C
Offensive line
No Duane Brown, but George Fant played well enough. Wilson was sacked just once even though he took a lot of hits early in the game. Overall, against a really good 49ers front, Seattle’s line did not lose the game. Poor coaching preparation offensively and bad time management late did.
