Seahawks versus Eagles Wild Card: Final injury reports
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks and Eagles both have injuries that will have an influence on the outcome of the game. Who is in and who is out for Seattle and Philadelphia.
I am not breaking news here by saying both the Seahawks and Eagles are missing a multitude of players that would make each team better. Seattle will be without Justin Britt, Will Dissly, Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, among others. Philadelphia is without Lane Johnson, Brandon Brooks and any receiver who ever played for them prior to 5 weeks ago.
So who is going to be out and in for the Seahawks and Eagles on Sunday? Here is a rather large list.
Seahawks Out
Left tackle Duane Brown
Receiver Malik Turner
Linebacker Mychal Kendricks
Questionable
Left guard Mike Iupati
Receiver Jaron Brown
Definitely playing
Safety Quandre Diggs
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney
There is some good news here for Seattle even though they could conceivably be without the starting left side of the offensive line. George Fant has played pretty well when Brown was unable to go. He needs to be good again today against a good Eagles front. But having Diggs definitely in for the Seahawks makes their defense much better. And Clowney didn’t play the first time Seattle played Philadelphia this year and Seattle’s defense was actually good.
Eagles Out
Right tackle Lane Johnson
Receiver Nelson Agholor
Right guard Brandon Brooks
Questionable
Tight end Zach Ertz (he is going to play, though)
Playing
Running back Miles Sanders
Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox
Ertz is the key here. He missed the Eagles final regular season of the game, but tight ends give the Seahawks fits. In week 12 against Seattle, Ertz had 12 catches, his season-high by three receptions. Philadelphia has a lot of injuries to skill position players but not having Johnson and Brooks could be the biggest advantage for Seattle. That is if Seattle can find a way to muster a pass rush for once.
