Aaron Rodgers will throw an interception to Shaquill Griffin

I realize Aaron Rodgers has a career interception percentage of 1.4 percent. This is the lowest ever for an NFL quarterback. Rodgers hasn’t thrown more than 8 interceptions in a season since 2010. He threw only 4 this year. It isn’t like Rodgers is throwing less. His 569 attempts this season were the fourth-most of his career.

I also realize that even though Shaquill Griffin was the 8th highest graded cornerback in 2019 by Pro Football Focus, he didn’t have any interceptions. He is due because he is almost always close in coverage or teams simply are not throwing his way. Rodgers won’t be afraid of Griffin, though. He will throw to whoever he thinks has the best chance to catch the ball.

Griffin has played in 45 games in his career. He has intercepted passes in just two of those games because two of his three career interceptions came in one game last season. Still, fewer quarterbacks are throwing Griffin’s way because Griffin’s guy is usually covered well enough to not risk the throw.

Rodgers, though, has thrown an interception in each of his last two games. And while the Packers haven’t made the playoffs since 2016, Rodgers has thrown interceptions in three of his last four postseason games. Griffin will pick off Rodgers on Sunday.
