GREEN BAY, WI – SEPTEMBER 10: Russell Wilson /

No. 1: Russell Wilson

Need I say more? Russell Wilson is the best quarterback in the game. He may not be as flashy as Mahomes. He may not be the runner that Lamar Jackson is. But there isn’t a quarterback I would rather have than Russell.

He can be whatever you need him to be. Need him to play game manager and not make mistakes? He can do that. Need him to be extremely efficient and rack up lots of yards and TDs on minimal attempts? You got it. Need him to be 95% of your offense and carry the entire team to a win? Easy. Need a big 4th quarter drive? Nobody you’d rather have.

He can make all the throws, still has remarkable escapability, can gash you with his legs. He has touch, throws with anticipation, and throws the best deep ball in the game. He doesn’t miss games. And he doesn’t turn the football over.

Basically, a healthy Russell Wilson is a card that guarantees you a 10 win season. Russell was simply sublime in 2019, throwing for 4110 yards and 31 TDs, while rushing for another 342 yards and 3 TDs. If not for a remarkable season from Lamar Jackson, Wilson would be the slam dunk MVP for the season.

Russell Wilson is a cheat code so few teams have access too and there is no sign he is exiting his prime… or really even close to it.  Wilson gives the Seahawks a chance to win the Super Bowl every season. And when you think about the future, there is no better building block than Russell Carrington Wilson.
