Revisiting my predictions for the Seahawks 2019 season
The Seahawks battled all season, only to be bounced from the playoffs by inches once again. Let’s see just how clear my crystal ball was back in September.
Was it truly just four short months ago that all 12s were hyped for the 2019 season to begin? It seems more like four years, with all the twists in the road the Seahawks traveled to the postseason. That trip came to an end Sunday, so what better time to look back on some predictions we made before that first kickoff? First up, a look back at my game-by-game predictions for the Hawks 2019 season. Was I within field goal range, or should I have just stayed on the bench?
It’s a bit difficult to make comparisons without the source material. Here’s my original article, the tl;dr version. I think it’s worth a look. For this recap, I’ll split the season up into four-game chunks, just as I did originally. Although this time, I’m confident I’ve got the outcome right. Because, you know, it’s all in the record books now.
I predicted Seattle would go 3-1 in the first four games. I saw the Hawks dominating the Bengals on both sides of the ball, cruising to an easy 31-13 win. Well, I got the win right, but that was about all I managed to predict. My prediction for the Steelers was similarly right and wrong. I expected the Hawks to take the game 27-20. As we know, it was another nail-biter, and another win.
Next up was the first game I expected Seattle to lose. About the only thing I got that right was that Alvin Kamara would be a terror, and was he ever. I’m not happy about it, but the Hawks did lose the game, and I was 3-0. At game four, I finally got the details right. I expected the Cardinals would be undermanned, and called a 25-13 Seattle win. We won 27-10. Now 4-0 on predictions through the first four weeks.
