Seahawks target one: Jalen Reagor, Junior, TCU

Jalen Reagor is one of the most dynamic athletes in this draft. He is blazing fast, explosive, shifty and polished. He has all the intangibles you can ask of a wide receiver. He should be a plug and play guy on the outside.

Reagor has a great feel for the game and is a natural athlete who just understands what he needs to do to get open. He has great hands and does well playing contested balls. He plays at his best when he is forcing the opposing defensive back to match his speed. Given that he is presumed to be one of the fastest players in the draft, not many players can do this.

He excels at creating separation on his routes. This is created both because of his incredible speed, as well as the shiftiness he brings to the routes. He is absolutely filthy in shaking defenders as you can see in the video clip below.

His only real draw comes from drops he has had. However, a stat I have should alleviate any concern about this. This past year only 30.7% of passes thrown his way were accurate. That is the fourth-lowest number in the country. This makes it even more impressive that he amassed 1,672 yards and 14 touchdowns over the last two seasons. You can be sure that he’d see more accurate passes from Wilson.

His pure speed and shiftiness remind me of Tyreek Hill. That is without the off-the-field issues that Hill had coming into the draft. Both players are dirty in their route running, paired that with blazing fast speed. Hill is one of the premier deep threats in the NFL and Reagor has that potential as well.

If Reagor entered in about any other year‘s draft, he likely would have been a top 10 draft pick. However, due to the depth at this position, he should be available late in the first round. Seattle would be wise to do some homework on this immensely talented receiver. Pairing his speed at Z, Lockett’s shiftiness in the slot and DK’s size and speed at the X could prove to tilt the Seahawks WR room into dominate territory.
