NFL mock draft, picks 23 through 27

23. New England Patriots: Devin Asiasi, TE

Asiasi is one of the most complete tight ends in this draft. When you watch Ucla’s film you can’t help but catch him making plays. He has soft hands and very technically sound in the blocking game. The Patriots have felt incomplete offensively since Gronk retired, Asiasi would give Tom Brady and the Pats a new safety net with true plug and play potential. Asiasi is one of the biggest sleepers in this draft, and one of my favorite prospects.

24. New Orleans Saints: Laviska Shenault, WR

Shenault has the functional athleticism, speed and hands that the Saints covet. Shenault is one of those prospects not many analysist/coaches knows how to play him to unlock the massive potential he possesses. Sean Peyton is one of the few coaches I would trust in maximizing his on field production. This would also give the Saints a solid number two option and Peyton another tool to utilize in his creative play calling.

25. Minnesota Vikings: Damon Arnette, CB

The Vikings secondary is far from what we have come to expect out of the unit. Arnette would provide an instant upgrade over Xavier Rhodes. He is one of the top man to man coverage corners in this draft class, he is very sticky. His footwork is precise and has phenomenal ball skills. The Vikings couldn’t have a better cornerback for their system.

26. Miami Dolphins: K’Lavon Chaisson, Edge

The final of Miami’s 3 first round picks. Chaisson possesses exceptional quickness, his explosiveness off the line of scrimmage is exceptional. He possesses good bend and solid hand usage. He has a ways to go in developing his repertoire in pass rushing moves. Chaisson is a hybrid between DE/SAM, with no true home for his position. With defensive mastermind Brian Flores as the head coach, this could be a fruitful marriage for both sides in unlocking the potential.

27. Seattle Seahawks: A.J. Epenesa, DE

This would mark two years in a row that Seattle would benefit from a players free fall in the draft (DK Metcalf). Epenesa plays with an exciting blend of power, sound technique and and length. He has very heavy hands and does well in controlling the point of attack. His physical profile projects him best as a base end in a 4-3 system, there is no better system in the NFL for his skill set than Seattle.
