We have our first repeat selection! I selected Jalen Reagor in the second in Mock Draft 1.0 and I’m taking him again. Reagor has the ability to turn every touch into a home run. He has easy speed, great quickness, and plays bigger than his size with above-average jumps.

Poor QB play stifled his numbers this season, but he was open enough to garner first-round consideration. The bad situation led to some effort issues and he saw some dropped passes as a result.

He needs to get stronger and to prove that his head is screwed on tight. But his big-play ability should give Seattle and Russell Wilson a fun weapon to work with.

Round 2 (64): Seahawks select Justin Madubuike, DL Texas A&M

So Neville Gallimore was on the board and I would have taken him ahead of Justin Madubuike but I wanted to talk about Madubuike. The guy is actually a bit undersized for an NFL defensive tackle but uses fantastic leverage and athleticism to win constantly.

He posses good short-area burst and has a series of pass-rush countermoves when he is initially beat. The best of them is a wicked spin move which thanks to his quickness, leaves guards and centers grasping at air.

He isn’t the perfect prospect. He will get knocked for his size and length and doesn’t explode off the snap like Gallimore. But Madubuike is a grinder who finds a way to win. Seattle has gotten tremendous value from an undersized DT and Madubuike has a much better chance to develop as a pass-rusher than Poona Ford.

Madubuike could check a few needs for the Seahawks and help in the run game and the passing game. In his junior year at A&M, Madubuike logged 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks and is a former 5-star recruit out of high school, something Pete Carroll tends to gravitate towards.
