Three best Seattle Seahawks games of all time
By Lee Vowell
2013 season Super Bowl which happened on February 2nd, 2014
This was the game that in hindsight, the Broncos had no chance of winning. The Legion of Boom would complete their apex of gloriousness in the 2013 season Super Bowl. 12s didn’t know it at the time, but Seattle would not win another Super Bowl for some time. But the Broncos, who had easily the number one offense in the NFL coming into the game, were completely demolished by the Seahawks, who had the number one defense.
If you know little about the game, do not let the statistics fool you. Denver had one more first down than Seattle, fewer penalties and more passing yards. But this game was completely one-sided. Seattle outgained Denver 341 to 306. In the 2013 regular season, the Broncos averaged 457 yards a game during the regular season. Denver averaged a league-high 6.3 yards-per-play during the regular season but in the Super Bowl, they averaged just 4.8. During the regular season this would have been 29th in the league.
12s affected this game, even though it took place in New Jersey. On the Broncos first play of scrimmage, Peyton Manning was misheard on the snap count because of Seattle fans and the ball whizzed by and led to a Seahawks safety. The game just got better for Seattle.

By 2:58 left in the third quarter, the score was 36-0 Seahawks. The final was 43-8. Manning, after only being sacked a league-low 20 times in the regular season, was under pressure nearly the entire game. Denver never got its offense going while Seattle scored a defensive touchdown and on a kickoff return.
It was the perfect Seahawks game at the end of the Seahawks best season ever. Seattle finished with one of the best, if not the best, defense the NFL has ever seen for a season. And likely, this 2013 Seahawks team could have beaten any team since or before.
