Marshawn Lynch, aka Beast Mode

Seriously, how could there be anyone else ever affiliated with the Seahawks that you would want to be quarantined with other than Marshawn Lynch? Besides the endless supply of Skittles (OK, maybe not the most nutritious “food” to have around for weeks on end), you would get to hear Lynch drop knowledge on life and football.

I wouldn’t really start with, “Hello, Mr. Beast Mode, great to meet you. Big fan. By the way, how did it feel to not get the ball at the end of the Super Bowl versus the Patriots?” But it would be a question I would ask during the weeks we were quarantined.

I would definitely ask him how he could be disciplined enough to not spend a dollar of his salary while playing football, live off endorsement money, and put that back into the company he started that has become the very successful Beast Mode Apparel? Lots of people have issues with overspending, yet Lynch, who came from very little money in his youth, found a way to not do this and better his future. We should all be so smart.

And really, if he responded to my questions with answers like, “I’m just here so I won’t get fined,” and “I’m just about that action, boss” or how I should “take care of (my) chicken” then I would be OK with it. Actually, more than OK. Happy enough to know there is a future beyond COVID-19.
