WR David Moore

Since joining the Seahawks in 2017 as a seventh-round pick, David Moore has flashed serious deep-threat potential. For a team lacking considerable depth at the wide receiver position, Seattle has been eagerly waiting for him to put it all together and secure his role as the No. 3 option.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened yet. Because of that, this could be Moore’s final opportunity to prove he belongs in the Emerald City beyond 2020.

This offseason, the Seahawks brought in Phillip Dorsett to provide speed and field-stretching abilities. Moore has flashed upside in that role, but now he’s facing stiff competition from a former first-round pick. Even prior to Dorsett’s arrival, Moore often struggled to lock down snaps, regularly losing them to Josh Gordon and Malik Turner in 2019.

Put simply, we need to see more of the below from Moore this upcoming season:

If we don’t, there’s a very good chance this will be his final go-around with Seattle. Heck, Moore isn’t even guaranteed to make the 2020 regular-season roster if he can’t step it up during training camp and the preseason. There will be plenty of competition for the final two wide receiver spots, and Moore can be cut without incurring any dead money.

For Moore’s sake, let’s hope he can flip the switch and become a reliable role player in 2020.
