Since re-signing Jadeveon Clowney doesn’t seem to be an option, who could the Seattle Seahawks acquire via trade to fix the pass rush in 2020? Let’s look at a few dream targets.

Put simply, the Seattle Seahawks‘ push rush isn’t as solid as it could be heading into the 2020 NFL season. Could the situation be worse? Absolutely. Still, more immediate progress would be ideal, especially given the club’s current status as a legitimate contender in the NFC.

Assuming Jadeveon Clowney isn’t re-signed, the Seahawks are left with Bruce Irvin, Benson Mayowa, L.J. Collier, Rasheem Green and Darrell Taylor as their top options off the edge. It’s not a death sentence for this defense, but improvements could still be made. For this exercise, though, I’m not interested in taking the safe approach by wading through what’s left in free agency.

Instead, I’d like to walk on the wild side by discussing dream trade targets.

What do I mean by that? Well for one, let’s not worry too much about the financials or trade packages. Obviously those matter, but I don’t want to write off a candidate simply because they make a lot of money or would cost the Seahawks a ton to acquire via trade. I’ll try to keep it relatively realistic, but won’t stray away from taking the bold approach.

Hopefully you get the picture by now. If not, just read ahead and see who I have in my sights as dream trade targets for the Seahawks to fix their pass rush in 2020.
