Russell Wilson will donate 300,000 meals after The Match promise

The Match, an event created to be a fundraiser to help fight COVID-19, raised a lot of money Sunday. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson got involved.
Sports fans want to watch live sports, no matter how real the event might be or not. On Sunday, a golf event called The Match: Champions for Charity was played and probably drew millions of viewers. I can’t be bothered to look up the actual ratings, but one thing is certain. 12s found yet another reason to admire Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Match was played between two teams. One paired Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning and the other paired Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. Woods and Manning won the contest by a stroke, but more importantly, the event raised $20 million.
Prior to the 16th hole, Wilson made an appearance and promised to donate 100,000 meals for each golfer that got their shot within 12 feet of the hole.
Brady, Manning and Mickelson all did that, while oddly enough, professional golfer Woods did not. So Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara will be donating 300,000 meals to the COVID-19 relief fund.
Of course, this donation isn’t the first thing Wilson has done to help fight the disease. Since March, Wilson and Ciara pledged to donate one million meals to Seattle-based food bank, Food Lifeline.
Russell Wilson also had a little friendly fun with Brady as well with a tweet showing Brady fictiously saying a certain shot could not be done and then Wilson stating Manning had just completed the task.
