Russell Wilson is a star and that goes well beyond football. The Seahawks quarterback will be one of the hosts of the 2020 ESPYs.

The ESPYs are usually an affair that gets tons of viewers for ESPN. This is a strange world we live in where a specific network can create a fake awards show and get lots of viewers and the show itself seems somehow important. But guess what, 12s? In 2020, you have a great reason to watch! Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will be a host of the event.

Beyond Russell Wilson, however, sports fans in the Seattle area have three reasons to tune in. Wilson’s co-hosts include American hero and OL Reign player Megan Rapinoe. If you don’t remember Rapinoe, she was one of the main reasons the United States women’s national soccer team won the World Cup in 2019.

Another of Russell Wilson’s co-hosts is Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm. So that makes three key pieces of Seattle area sports culture hosting the ESPYs this year. Heck, if the ESPYs were not being held virtually this year, ESPN might as well hold the event in Seattle.

Russell Wilson is the Man!

Russell Wilson, as I am sure all 12s know, has hosted awards shows previously. From 2015 to 2017 Wilson hosted Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards. Wilson, again as 12s all know, is a Super Bowl champion and a seven-time Pro Bowler and all-around good guy. He is currently signed with the Seahawks through 2023.

Next. Former Seahawks Seattle should re-sign for 2020. dark

While there have been silly rumors that the Seahawks entertained the idea of trading Wilson fairly recently and could trade him in the future, the likely truth is much clearer. Russell Wilson isn’t going anywhere. Well beyond 2023, Wilson will be the Seahawks quarterback, leading them to many more wins and hopefully a few more Super Bowl victories.
