FS Quandre Diggs

When it comes to making the Pro Bowl as a safety, the odds are often against the little guys. More often than not, the scant spots on the roster are filled by the game’s biggest names and then one or two guys who stuffed the stat sheet that season.

So why couldn’t that be Quandre Diggs in 2020?

As we saw during his brief time with the Seahawks last season, he’s more than capable of producing big plays in bunches. During his five games as the starting free safety, Diggs tallied three interceptions — matching the total of each of his last two seasons. In five games. Imagine if he could maintain that type of production over a 16-game campaign.

Obviously I’m not expecting him to pick off 10+ passes in 2020, but crazier things have happened. He’s already asserted himself as an integral part of the Seattle secondary and is more than capable of single-handedly turning the tide. If he can grab a handful of interceptions (maybe turn another one or two into touchdowns) and rack up big tackle totals, the Pro Bowl may be within reach.

Diggs is probably the biggest stretch of the bunch, but I wouldn’t discount the idea. We’ve seen the type of disruptive talent he brings to the field. I’d expect to see plenty more of it this upcoming season.
