The Seahawks aren’t afraid to invest in troubled players. However, Antonio Brown has some serious allegations against him off the field.

Outside of football, he has been accused of rape, sexual misconduct, felony burglary and assault. He recently plead guilty to the burglary and assault. However, the rape and sexual misconduct charges still loom over head. There will very likely be a suspension forthcoming by the NFL if he signs with a team.

The Seahawks aren’t afraid to bring troubled played in. A couple of recent examples would be Mychal Kendricks ( still awaiting charges for insider trading) and Josh Gordon. Gordon is a repeat offender with both performance-enhancing, as well as recreational drugs. There is a key difference however between Kendrick, Gordon and Antonio Brown .

The key difference is how the player affects the locker room. Brown is an enigma, he has the potential to wreak havoc on the blooming locker room in Seattle. The question lies with what happens when Seattle signs him and he is getting WR3 snaps and targets. I mean, he has been a number 1 wideout for years on a pass-heavy offense.

Antonio Brown:

Year:      2014       2015       2016       2017       2018

Targets:   181        193         154         163         168

Yards:    1698       1834       1284       1533       1297

TD’s:          13           10           12             9              15

He has the potential to bring a poisonous dynamic to the locker room if he feels he isn’t being respected as one of the best receivers in the NFL. Seattle already has Tyler Lockett who is immensely talented and a true number one. One the other hand they have DK Metcalf, who I believe will become a budding star this year.
