Seattle Seahawks: 5 coaches who could be Pete Carroll’s replacement
So who will be the next Seattle Seahawks head coach?
To give 12s an idea of who is out there to replace Pete Carroll, I have ranked the top 5 potential candidates. I take into account the probability of them being hired for my rankings, as well as the probability that they will still be available when Carroll does call it quits. The rankings are not just a top 5 “best” candidates or 5 most probable, rather a combination of the two along with some theory of how they would get hired.
Honorable Mentions
Dan Quinn
Quinn is currently the Falcons head coach and is on one of the hottest seats in the NFL. Even though he is the former Legion of Boom defensive coordinator, with his current gig and potential firing, I don’t see him coming back to Seattle to take another head coaching role.
Greg Roman
In his first year as Ravens OC, Roman conducted the best offense in the NFL last season in terms of points and DVOA, as well as the MVP Lamar Jackson. With similar results expected in his second season, I find it hard to believe that he will be available long enough for the Seahawks to go after him.
Austin Davis
Davis would be a candidate if Carroll stays on for many more years, as he is only entering his second year on the Seahawks staff (QB Coach). If Davis can take over the role of OC within a few years and run a great offense, he could be the young candidate that the aforementioned “Let Russ cook” crowd wants and needs.
And now on to the top 5 potential candidates.
