FS Quandre Diggs

2020 Cap Hit: $5.16 million

The highest-paid player on this list, Quandre Diggs still deserves a nod for what he brings to the field at the safety position. Sure, he may not be Earl Thomas or Kam Chancellor, but he’s a turnover machine and one of the Seahawks’ most reliable defenders.

Acquired from the Detroit Lions midway through the 2019 season, Diggs quickly caught on as a playmaker for the Seattle defense. In only five regular-season appearances, he racked 21 tackles and three interceptions and scored a defensive touchdown. In no time at all, he emerged as a key piece of the secondary.

Imagine what the stat line could look like in a complete 16-game season.

Diggs will team up with Bradley McDougald (who our own Geoff Shull recently dubbed the Seahawks’ most underrated player) to form one of the NFL’s most underrated safety duos in 2020. Although not the elite talent Seattle fans are used to on the back-end of the defense, he’s more than capable of turning the tide with timely turnovers and dependable play against both the run and pass.

The Seahawks still have Diggs under contract for two more years, so expect plenty more excellent play from him for the foreseeable future. It makes it even sweeter when you consider John Schneider only had to give up a 2020 fifth-round pick to bring him to the Pacific Northwest.
