WR D.K. Metcalf

2020 Cap Hit: $1.04 million

It’s easy to say this for a second-year player already coming into his own as the franchise’s future No. 1B receiver (I didn’t forget about you, Tyler Lockett). As obvious as D.K. Metcalf‘s inclusion on this list was, though, it still needed to be called out.

So here it is.

Metcalf is on the precipice of a breakout season for the Seahawks. We already saw the type of damage he could do during his rookie 2019 campaign, during which he emerged as a legitimate big-play threat and huge steal for Seattle.

The kid slid all the way to the end of the second round because of a poor 3-cone-drill time and is now paying the Seahawks back for taking a chance on him. Although there are some clear areas of improvement for the young wide receiver, his talent and potential are undeniable.

After he amassed 900 yards and seven touchdowns on 58 receptions as a rookie, Metcalf convinced the rest of the league that he was worth a first-round pick. Luckily for the Seahawks, they got him at No. 64 overall — allowing them to pay him only $1.04 million heading into his second season in the NFL.

Expect even more production from Metcalf as he continues to iron out the wrinkles in his game. The Seahawks will certainly get well more than you’d expect for only $1.04 million.
