The Seahawks need another good receiver. Antonio Brown shouldn’t be the answer. Seattle will re-sign Josh Gordon to be their third option.

The Seahawks have good wideouts in Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf but they need a third. Josh Gordon will be that player. I guarantee it. Before I say I have inside information, I don’t. But I have circumstantial evidence that implies that Gordon will be a member of the Seattle football team in 2020.

First of all, Gordon has stayed in Seattle this offseason and been working out. He liked his short time with the Seahawks last year until he was once again suspended. Gordon was suspended for a seventh-time in career by the NFL. Gordon was suspended by a former team, the Browns, once. Gordon’s suspension in 2019 was due to a masking agent and also a banned substance, likely marijuana.

But Gordon, unlike recently-suspended Antonio Brown, has never been a problem in the locker room. He has never alleged injured another person. Gordon’s demons are internal. Brown’s seemingly are not. Even though Gordon has been suspended a million times, he does not require the Seahawks to suspend their own morality by re-signing him, unlike signing Brown might.

Plus, even in a limited time with Seattle last year, Gordon showed he has the hands of a god. Few humans can make catches as seemingly easy as Gordon did against the Panthers last season.

Plus, Gordon had two monumentally important catches for first downs on two third downs in the Seahawks victory over the 49ers last year. He can be and would be a viable third option for Russell Wilson and Seattle.

More options for Russell Wilson

Having a third option as good as Gordon is unfair. Seattle already has Lockett, Metcalf, Greg Olsen and Will Dissly and Gordon would just be another tool in Russell Wilson‘s box. And if Gordon gets reinstated, Wilson could build a report with him to begin the 2020 season instead of trying to that midway through like last year.

The key there, of course, is the NFL reinstating Gordon. But now that the NFL will not suspend players for marijuana use, Gordon’s chances of getting suspended yet again are lessened. Sure, Gordon has let teammates down before by missing games and seasons. But if – and that’s a big if – then he is worth re-signing. So much so that I guarantee the Seahawks take another chance on him and re-sign him once he is reinstated for the 2020 season.
