Regrading the Seattle Seahawks 2010 NFL draft class
By Lee Vowell
Round 5 Pick 133: Kam Chancellor: A+
Kam Chancellor was the player who put the boom in the Legion of Boom. But like Earl Thomas, strong safety Chancellor was much more than just a one-note player. Thomas had speed but could tackle. Chancellor could punish opposing players but also had speed and intelligence and freakish athletic ability.
Just remember that this was the draft where the Seahawks chose Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor and I doubt that any safety tandem of their quality has ever been chosen by one team in the same draft class.
There are simply too many Chancellor memories to compile on one post. Remember the time he picked off Cam Newton in the 2014 playoffs and returned the ball 90 yards for a touchdown? Or the Seahawks Super Bowl win against the Broncos for the 2013 season when Chancellor had an interception and set the tone early in the game when he smashed Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas?

Or maybe the time Chancellor saved the early part of the Seahawks 2015 season when he forced the Lions Calvin Johnson to fumble just as Johnson was about to score a go-ahead touchdown with under two minutes left in the game. Had Seattle lost the game, they would have been 1-3.
Chancellor was injured in week 9 of the 2017 season against the Cardinals and never played again. was the same game Richard Sherman was injured. But Kam being Kam he went out with a boom as he finished with 10 tackles, a safety, a forced fumble, a pass-defended and a tackle for loss.
Chancellor won’t make the Hall of Fame probably because his career was a bit too short, though he did make four Pro Bowls. But he needs to be in the Seahawks Ring of Honor and was a great player.
