The Seattle Seahawks could have some surprising cuts on Saturday when they finalize their active 53-man roster.

Like every other NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks must finalize their 53-man active roster for 2020 this weekend. Seattle is always late in announcing who made the team and who didn’t but 12s will know one way or another on Saturday. Seattle can keep 55 players on each week’s roster, but 53 is what Seattle will need to officially keep.

The Seahawks will probably make some more moves after all the teams announce their rosters. Teams will have to cut veterans who might still have good skill but are expensive. Seattle hasn’t done a lot to address a glaring need at defensive tackle, specifically. Seattle currently has Jarran Reed and Poona Ford as starters and then a lot of question marks after that.

My point is that even when final rosters are announced, the Seahawks will still likely make a move or two choosing to see which players from other teams can help them in 2020.

But Seattle will clearly have some tough decisions of their own on who to keep. Seattle re-signed receivers Josh Gordon and Paul Richardson in the past week and they will likely only keep five, or at most six, wideouts so players like David Moore are likely to go. And rookie Freddie Swain has been good in camp, so does John Ursua leave?

The most surprising Seahawks cuts would be veterans who have helped them in recent years. Here are three that could be let go.
