Jamal Adams is who we thought he was

After the Seattle Seahawks acquired Jamal Adams from the New York Jets, many were spectacle about the amount of the draft picks they gave up. Although they did give up two first-round picks and more for the all-pro safety, I always thought it was worth it. From the moment Jamal Adams was drafted out of LSU, everyone knew this kid can play. He is explosive, has solid coverage skills, rarely misses a tackle and brings energy each and every single play. He plays like he is a man possessed.

In watching today’s game, it seemed as if Jamal Adams was involved in every single play. Seattle used him in the box a lot in which he erupted into the backfield to stop the run game. He was brought as a blitzer in many of their zone schemes as he is one of the best blitzing safeties in the league.

Most importantly, whenever a play was made on the opposite side of the field of him, he always ended up near where the play ended. Having him and Bobby Wagner is one of the nicest luxuries in the NFL as both have incredible instincts and have the ability to stop the run.

Jamal Adams finished today’s game with 12 tackles, 1 sack, 2 quarterback hits and 2 tackles for loss. He also almost caused an interception on a play in which he blasted Matt Ryan, causing the ball to float in the air but was brought down by Julio Jones. If it was any other wide receiver, Shaquill Griffin would have ended up with an interception.

Jamal Adams is a charismatic young man who can galvanize and energize an entire locker room. He carries an attitude that makes you want to fear him. He showed some of his edge today in his pregame remarks taking a shot at his former team, the New York Jets. In referring to his offense putting up 38 points, he said “I’m not used to it.”
