Fun stat No. 3: Chris Carson had the 2nd highest receiving grade amongst RB’s in week 1.

Seattle truly let Russell Wilson cook in week 1. This left Carson with only 6 carries. However, he was very active in the passing game. He caught a total of 6 passes in week 1.

His receiving grade came out to 137.5. This was good for second in the NFL amongst running backs. Carson made a big jump last year in his receiving abilities. If he can continue growing in this area, avoid the injury bug and reduce his fumbling woes he is going to cash in next offseason.

Don’t be surprised if Carson receives a much heavier dose of running plays against the Patriots. He also likely earned a few more targets in the passing game in week 2 with this performance. It will also be interesting to see how the share of snaps is distributed going forward amongst running backs.

There was a fairly even share of snaps split between Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde in week 1 with Travis Homer getting the leftovers. None of the running backs really got going. However, Seattle didn’t allow them to establish much momentum either with just 2-7 running attempts each.

If you have Carson in week two in fantasy football, he is a risky start. However, it is one that I am willing to roll the dice on. Consider him a back end RB2.
