Player 2: Cameron Wake

Cameron Wake is somehow still playing. Now well into his age 38 venture, it doesn’t appear he is ready to retire just yet. Don’t let his age fool you though. He can still produce.

He has always been a late bloomer. He is just one of those players who didn’t quite figure it out until later in his career. Fortunately for him, health has been on his side thus far in his twilight years.

Wake would be a player Seattle would only insert on obvious passing downs. Again, let Brooks and Barton play runs and coverage. When the Seahawks want to turn on the heat, bring Wake. Let me demonstrate his efficiencies over the last few years in pass rushing.

Year         Pass rushing        Pressure      Sacks

                    attempts              rate
2016             353                      14%                11
2017             360                      15%                10.5
2018             271                      17%                   6
2019             160                      14%                  2.5

If one thing is clear, he is disruptive. Bring a blitz between him and Adams and you are sure to at least force and incompletion if not a sack. Given his age, he won’t be overly expensive to bring in either.

Suggested contract: veteran minimum base with potential to get to $2 million.
