The Seahawks have once again been bit by the injury bug

In last week’s game against the New England Patriots, the Seahawks suffered two serious injuries on the defensive end. DE Bruce Irvin and S Marquise Blair suffered torn ACL injuries that will keep them sidelined for the remainder of the year. In yesterday’s game, the Seahawks suffered a serious amount of injuries to key players.

After suffering a week 1 stinger, DE Rasheem Green was put on the IR. After Irving went down with an ACL injury, the defensive line became slimmer and slimmer. Yesterday, DE Damontre Moore was playing because of the injuries and his rust showed off. He had two penalties in the second half, one coming on a 3rd and 4 that resulted in a 1st down for the Cowboys late in the fourth.

With Quinton Dunbar out yesterday, the secondary was already slim as the Seahawks called up CB Ryan Neal. Neal ended up playing safety in the last couple of minutes because SS Jamal Adams suffered a groin injury. Adams was missed on the field and was shown on the sideline in agony walking up and down by Pete Carroll trying to coach up his teammates.

Rookie LB, Jordyn Brooks who made his first start yesterday also suffered an injury that forced him to remain on the sidelines for the remainder of the game.

None of these injuries have a return date on them, but hopefully, they aren’t too serious. On the offensive end, HB Chris Carson and G Damien Lewis both suffered injuries. Lewis seemed to get rolled up on causing him to miss the rest of the game with an ankle injury. Carson suffered a knee injury that came as a result of being rolled over after the play (which looked kind of dirty in my opinion).

The Seahawks have suffered the following notable injuries thus far: G Damien Lewis, HB Chris Carson, WR Philip Dorsett, DE Bruce Irvin, LB Jordyn Brooks, CB Quinton Dunbar, S Marquise Blair, S Jamal Adams.

Dunbar and Carson should be good to go next week, but we will see how they and the rest of the injured players progress throughout this week of practice.
