Player 2: Aqib Talib

Sure, Aqib Talib recently retired. However, he was so very close to playing this season its not even funny. The Patriots made a strong push to sign the veteran cornerback. However, when he saw the Patriots schedule he had a change of mind.

It’s completely possible that Aqib Talib is actually retired. However, it’s not all that uncommon for players to retire, then realize that their hearts are still in it for one last go. Given the magic Russell Wilson has been displaying, that could be enough for Talib to re-think the whole retirement thing.

Talib likely wouldn’t be more than a rotational cog at this point in his career. Someone simply to add depth to help shore up the underperforming secondary. Talib may not be the coverage guy that he once was, in his age-34 season. However, he is still an absolute ball hawk.

If Seattle decided they can sustain this offensive production, and their focus isn’t on lessening the passing yards but creating turnovers; this could be an ideal pairing. Talib has 35 career interceptions.

He could be thrown in as a big nickel when looking for a big play. Someone simply inserted to create turnovers.
