Player of the Month

This one is obvious. No one on the Seahawks or for that matter, no one else in the NFL is playing better than Russell Wilson. A lot of fuss has been made about Wilson never receiving a single MVP vote throughout his career. I, for one, am not a fan of everyone now joining the bandwagon. There is no denying the talent of this man. You couldn’t deny it then and you can’t deny it now.

So, I do not want all these people acting like they have been praising Wilson for years when they are the same ones who have been disrespecting him by not giving him the praise he deserves.

In the week 3 victory against the Cowboys, Russell Wilson made history for his team and broke a record in the NFL. He is the only quarterback in Seattle franchise history to throw 5 touchdowns in back to back games. He is also the only quarterback to throw for 14 touchdowns throughout the first three games of an NFL season.

Russell Wilson’s stat line for the month of September: 79-103 (77%), 925 YDs, 14 TDs, 1 INT

*The one interception was not his fault. The ball bounced off the hands of Greg Olsen. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Notable Injuries

While the Seahawks are 3-0, they have suffered some injuries along the way. Prior to week 1, there were injuries and throughout the first three games, the injuries began piling up and unfortunately, some big names made the list.

  • HB Chris Carson — first-degree knee strain. He has a chance to play in week 4.
  • G Damien Lewis — ankle sprain. He has a chance to play in week 4.
  • WR Philip Dorsett — foot soreness. Place on IR.
  • DE Bruce Irvin — torn ACL. Out for the season.
  • DE Darrell Taylor — recovering from leg surgery. Will most likely miss the month of October.
  • LB Jordyn Brooks — first-degree strain. Will miss a couple weeks.
  • CB Quinton Dunbar — soreness. Should be good to go in week 4.
  • S Jamal Adams. – strained groin. Has a chance to play in week 4.
  • S Marquise Blair – torn ACL. Out for season.

Bold Predictions

With some notable injuries to the defense as well as things clearing up with the virus, here are some bold predictions about what can happen in the upcoming month.

  • Seattle signs DT Damion “Snacks” Harrison.
  • The Seahawks keep DE Shaquem Griffin on the active roster.
  • Seattle WR, Josh Gordon, gets reinstated.
  • The Seahawks will announce that a limited amount of fans will be allowed in attendance before the end of the month.
  • Russell Wilson will have more than 27 touchdown passes heading into the month of November.
  • Alton Robinson has a total of 5 sacks in the month of October.

In my September preview, I went 2-1 in predicting games. I had changed my mind in determining the winner of the Week 3 game, but originally, I thought the Seahawks were going to lose to the Cowboys. I will keep my original pick as the one that gets reflected in my record.

I honestly did not think Seattle was going to let Russ do what he is doing, but I am happy I am wrong.
