Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright were the best players on defense and it wasn’t close

Seattle still needs to fix its defense, but the unit was better in week four. And temper the 415 total yards they allowed Miami to gain with the fact that Seattle was missing Jamal Adams and Quinton Dunbar. Adams, for one, probably would have made a huge difference in Seattle’s ability to slow the Dolphins run game and keep Ryan Fitzpatrick from those irritating quarterback runs he had.

Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright, however, were excellent for Seattle as per usual. Wagner led the team with a combined 12 tackles (10 were solo) and a pass defended. Wright was second on the team in tackles with 8 combined tackles, including one for loss. He also had three passes defended, though at least two of them should have been interceptions.

Wagner and Wright have been Seattle’s starting linebackers for the better part of a decade at this point. They help form possibly the best linebacker group in the NFL. If even one of them had missed Sunday’s game, there would have been a real chance of Miami winning.

Next. Seahawks need to let Ken Norton, Jr. go. dark

The most fun part of watching Wagner and Wright in week four was watching them just destroy opposing receivers and running backs. Wright may have had the better game even though he had fewer tackles than Wagner. Wright played the pass and the run and had at least two tackles that were Legion of Boom worthy.
