Seattle Seahawks: 5 takeaways from win versus Dolphins

The East Coast Kids
The trip from Seattle to Miami by plane is 2,724 miles. That is the most miles any team will travel on the year. The Seahawks have 3 more east coast trips ahead of them, but I do not think they are phased by being the team that will lead the NFL in “most miles traveled in 2020”.
In 2019, the Seahawks made 5 east coast trips: Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Carolina. They were 5-0 in those games.
Thus far in 2020, the Seahawks have made 2 east coast trips: Atlanta, Miami. They are, of course, 2-0, in those games.
The East Coast Kids were exceptional on the road yesterday. I know they did not win big on the scoreboard, but I thought they had their best overall team performance in 2020. The defense showed up and the offense established the run and made big plays when called upon.
Most importantly though, the Seattle Seahawks had 0 penalties yesterday. They traveled all those miles and they were still disciplined and prepared. All that credit goes to Coach Carroll and the rest of those leaders on that team. With COVID, there are strict restrictions in team hotels when they are on the road and it is forcing them to be all in about their game. So far, the Seahawks have responded nicely and have shown that their preparation is paying off.
On a closing note, how awesome was it to hear the 12s yesterday in Miami? God, I’ve missed the “SEA….HAWKS” chant and it felt great to hear it yesterday on the road.
