The Seahawks moved to 4-0 with a week four victory over the Dolphins.

Sometimes it’s not about how you start or how you finish, it’s just about how you survive – just ask the Seattle Seahawks. The Miami Dolphins gave Seattle all they could handle but in the end, the ‘Hawks advanced to 4-0 after a 31-23 victory at Hard Rock Stadium.

When Seattle opened their season up with a week one victory over the Atlanta Falcons, there was a relaxing feeling throughout the game that seemed too good to be true. Yes, at this point we are used to watching the Seahawks win games but they tend to make it a bit more stressful.

Weeks two, three, and four have been a return to the usual stress and headaches that come while watching the men in blue and green play but when each game results in a victory, it makes it very hard to complain.

There are two ways to relieve stress when watching this franchise play, either take medication or remember that when the team needs a play, it’s probably Russell Wilson that’s going to make it.

In Russ We Trust

Wilson cooled off a bit (despite the humidity) in Sunday mornings matchup against the Dolphins, yet, he was still stellar. He threw for 360 yards on 24/34 passing with two touchdowns and an interception. In the two games leading up to this, he had eclipsed five touchdowns in each after starting the season with a four-touchdown outing against the Atlanta Falcons. If COVID-19 does not force the NFL into cancellation, there is an extremely high chance that Wilson will be voted as the league’s MVP for the first time in his career.

Russ now has 16 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 1285 yards on 103-137 passing.

The return of Chris Carson

On Sunday, Carson began to look like Carson again. He’s had a slow start to the season since returning from last seasons hip injury but against the Dolphins he gained 80 yards on 16 carries while also scoring his first two touchdowns of the year.

Defensively, Seattle had their best game yet

The Seahawk defense has been under the microscope this season, particularly the secondary. The Dolphins may not be the best sample size but the ‘Hawks played much better than they have in recent bouts. Ryan Fitzpatrick had 315 yards but went 29/45 and threw two interceptions while having no touchdowns. Those two interceptions came from Ryan Neal and Shaquill griffin.

Neal has been a much-needed surprise the past couple of weeks, it was his second interception in as many games as he fills in for Jamal Adams who is out nursing a groin injury.

By the numbers

Both teams had similar offensive production outside of touchdowns scored.

The Seahawks earned 26 1st downs with 17 coming through the air, 8 on the ground, and 1 through a penalty.

Miami earned 25 first downs, with 17 through the air and 8 on the ground.

Each team had 10 drives but Seattle outgained the Dolphins 441-415 despite the Dolphins running 6 more plays.

Outside of Wilson and Carson, the ‘Hawks biggest performers were D.K. Metcalf who caught 4 passes for 106 yards and David Moore who reeled in 3 catches for 95 yards a score. The other receiving touchdown came from Travis Homer, his first career score.

Who’s next?

Next up for the Seattle Seahawks is the Minnesota Vikings who bring in their potent passing attack led by Adam Theilen and rising rookie Justin Jefferson out of LSU.

The Vikings got their first win of the season on Sunday against the Texans and will look to give the Seahawks their first loss
