Seattle Seahawks vs Minnesota Vikings: Players to keep an eye on
By Reuben Gasee
Who to keep an eye out for in the Seahawks Week 5 matchup
The Seattle Seahawks will look to continue their momentum as they’ll look to go 5-0 against the Minnesota Vikings. They have a Week 6 bye so it would be a fantastic accomplishment to head into their week off without a loss.
They still have a game to play though and they need to direct all their focus on their Week 5 matchup before the players, coaching staff and team personnel enjoy their week off. Here’s who to look for when the Seahawks take on the Vikings.
Dalvin Cook
Dalvin Cook has emerged as one of the better running backs across the league this year with stats of 424 yards over 75 carries (average of 5.7 yards per run) with six touchdowns. With the Seahawks having a below-average pass rush game, the Vikings game strategy may be to put the ball in Cook’s hands a lot to get up the field.
If this is what the Vikings plan on doing, this could cause trouble for the Seahawks defense as they haven’t done a great job of stopping the run game. One thing the Seahawks could do to alleviate their weakness stopping the run game is having their safeties and/or linebackers blitzing the quarterback often.
This could help the Seahawks stop Cook when the Vikings put the ball in his hands although they’ll have to be careful as Minnesota also has a good wide receiver in Adam Thielen that needs to have strong coverage on.
