Seahawks versus Vikings: Our staff sees a high-scoring Seattle victory
By Lee Vowell
Here are the predictions of our staff for the Seahawks versus Vikings week five.
The Seattle Seahawks are off to a good start this year. Still, they give up a lot of points and the Vikings, Seattle’s week five opponent, have the capability to score. So who will win on Sunday Night Football? This is what our staff thinks.

This game is between two very similar teams. Both teams have star power on the defensive side of the ball. Yet, they are underperforming consistently. Both considered amongst the worst passing defenses in the NFL.
On offense, both teams have studs at the wide receiver, running back and quarterback. Both teams can put up a lot of points. This game has the makings of a trap week. Considering the surplus of injuries Seattle is dealing with, this could be dangerous.
However, I’m going to hold out hope with Chris Carson going against a soft defensive line. Russell Wilson against a weak secondary. Lastly, the offensive line playing lights out. I don’t see the Vikings outscoring this red hot Seahawks offense.

There are literally no stats needed here. Somehow we are doing this again, in primetime wearing neon green against the same old Kirk Cousins-led Vikings for the third year in a row. The Seahawks and Vikings have met every year except for twice since 2012 and Seattle has won every matchup. This one will be no different against a good Vikings offense and not so great defense with Seattle coming out victorious, again.

The Seahawks will look to head into their bye week with an undefeated record and continue the momentum the team has. Russell Wilson will look to continue his tear against a weak Vikings defense that is especially vulnerable in the secondary. It’s a good thing that Chris Carson looks ok as he will factor into the game plan in order to attempt to throw the Vikings off balance. The biggest thing is if the Seahawks weak pass rush can stop Dalvin Cook who should get a ton of feeds.
Prediction: Seahawks 33 Vikings 17

Russell Wilson is undefeated against the Minnesota Vikings in his career. Not only are the Seahawks great on prime-time, but they are nearly unbeatable when they play at home on primetime. The Vikings biggest offensive strength is the Seahawks greatest defensive strength. With the 2nd best rushing defense in the league, the Seahawks will be able to contain Dalvin Cook, causing Kirk Cousins to beat them with his arm. I think Jamal Adams will return for this game and have an immediate impact. Also, CB Quinton Dunbar should be back in the starting lineup for this one.
The Seahawks will force two turnovers in this one, giving Wilson and company extra opportunities at finding pay der. Wideouts DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett also have a chance of having big games this weekend as the Vikings secondary isn’t as strong as we are accustomed too. The MVP, Russell Wilson, will put on another show on primetime throwing for over 350 yards, 4 touchdowns, leading to a Seattle win.
Prediction: Seahawks 42 Vikings 21

The Seahawks are looking to go 5-0 for the first time in franchise history. The Minnesota Vikings have not won a game against Seattle in the time Russell Wilson has been there and I doubt they will be able to stop him anytime soon. Seattle’s defense is where the concern lies as they are allowing the most passing yards in the NFL. It’s going to take a lot for them to stop Kirk Cousins and the Vikings offense even though they are the 22nd ranked offense in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins are the 23rd-ranked team and Seattle let them score 23 points. What is good for Seattle it the Vikings are allowing the fourth-most passing yards in the league, leaving the door wide open for Russell Wilson to seal the win.
Prediction: Seahawks 35 Vikings 27

On the face of it, the Seahawks – Vikings game looks like another shootout. The Hawks rank 21st in points allowed while the Vikes are 26th. Not so fast, 12s. Led by Mr. Russell Wilson, Seattle is second in the league in putting points on the board while Minnesota is close to the middle of the pack at 14th. The biggest reason for this is turnover-ratio. So far, less than seven percent of Seattle drives end in turnovers, while Minnesota has more than double that number, at more than 15 percent. On defense, the ‘Hawks are taking away the ball nearly 18 percent of the time, while the Vikes defense is under five percent. That all adds up to some really bad mojo for the dudes with horns on their helmets. Look for Seattle to win the turnover battle 4-1, and the game as well.
Prediction: Seahawks Vikings 26

First of all, let me say I know 12s are gaining confidence in this 2020 team because each week this prediction article has more and more words. We like talking about the Seahawks and feel good about the team. But yet, every week comes down to a heart-racing panic attack of a game. Seattle could lead by 28 points and still games end up being one-score affairs. This week will be no different. Both teams will score a lot and barring any bad injuries, Russell Wilson should find D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett enough to outscore Minnesota.
Prediction: Seahawks 38 Vikings 34
