Seahawks final injury report versus Vikings: No Jamal Adams
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks will be without Jamal Adams again in week five.
A week before the Seahawks get a week off to rest, Seattle officially stated safety Jamal Adams will not play. This will be the second straight game Adams will have missed. Seattle was OK without Adams in week four against the Dolphins but the Vikings offense is better and Adams will likely be missed.
Seahawks injury news
In more optimistic news, Seattle could see cornerback Quinton Dunbar return after missing the last couple of games. Dunbar was one of the few bright spots against the Cowboys in week three and he is certainly better than his replacement, Tre Flowers. The Vikings have excellent receivers in Adam Thielen and rookie Justin Jefferson and Seattle having Dunbar available would be a big boost to the secondary.
According to head coach Pete Carroll, Dunbar “did real well, particularly (Thursday) in practice. There’s a really good chance he’s going to be ready to go.”
Mike Iupati is listed as questionable but is likely to play. This is good as the Vikings defensive line isn’t great and Iupati would be a road grader for Chris Carson and company.
All that said, Seattle will probably be without Lano Hill this week with a back issue as well as Adams. This means Ryan Neal will need to be good again. I say “again” because according to Pro Football Focus, Neal is the fifth-highest graded safety in the NFL in 2020.
Vikings injuries
Minnesota is in slightly better shape than the Seahawks for Sunday. The only player ruled out is receiver K.J. Osborn who is more a kick returner. Minnesota’s questionable include cornerback Kris Boyd, who isn’t really a starter unless forced to be so, and cornerback Holton Hill, who isn’t very good and has started just six games in his three-year career.
