The Seahawks defeated the Vikings in week five to move to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history.

Hi, 12. If you happened to give up on the Seahawks halfway through on Sunday, no one could blame you. The offense was putrid, the defense a disaster and well, Michael Dickson was great. But if you missed the second half, you missed too much to put into a quick recap article like this.

At the end of it all, Seattle had defeated the Minnesota Vikings 27-26 in a game that in a lot of ways they had no business winning. Still, Seattle did win and is now 5-0 for the first time in team history.

Seattle had done little – in fact, they were held scoreless by halftime and had less than 50 yards of total offense – but then in a span of less than two minutes in the third quarter, Seattle scored three touchdowns. They looked like the offense 12s had come to love in 2020. But then Seattle relapsed again and after leading 21-13, the Vikings came back and led 26-21.

The Vikings dominated time of possession in this game 39:28 to 20:32 and probably rightfully decided to go for it on 4th and inches just outside the Seahawks 5-yard line with less than 2 minutes left. For what seemed like the first time in the game, Seattle stopped Minnesota in a short-yardage situation.

Final drive

This left enough time for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks to drive downfield with D.K. Metcalf being huge on the drive. Metcalf caught a 39-yard pass on fourth down to get to the Minnesota 38. Then on 4th and goal, Wilson found Metcalf again for the go-ahead touchdown.

Next. Ken Norton, Jr. needs to go. dark

There are lots of things Seattle needs to fix after the bye week in week six, but there is something magical about this team too. Russell Wilson wasn’t perfect this game but still threw for three touchdowns. And now 12s can take a week off to let their blood pressure lower after an amazing start to the year.
