The Seahawks win a close and somewhat lower scoring game

Arizona is 4-2 and in all their wins but one they have led in time of possession. In week six they defeated the Cowboys though Dallas had better time of possession because well, Dallas sucks. But in the Cardinals two losses, they have trailed in time of possession.

This means a team that scores quickly against the Cardinals is less successful as when the Lions defeated Arizona in week three they scored 26 points and when the Panthers beat the Cardinals they had 31 points.

Teams that are OK to grind out yards and eat clock defeat the Cardinals and score more points. (OK, it might also help that Arizona has also played the Washington Football Team, the New York Jets and a Dak Prescott-less Cowboys team, but still.) The most points Arizona has given up in a game were in both their losses and the fewest points they have scored in a game were in both their losses.

Eat clock, keep Kyler Murray off the field with fewer opportunities and you have a good chance of beating Arizona. Seattle doesn’t have to do this to win. They could simply try to outscore the Cardinals and with Russell Wilson have a good chance to win.

Next. Should Seahawks trade for Aldon Smith?. dark

But this is a week that Carson and company grind out yards and lead Seattle to victory in a lower-than-expected scoring game. Seattle will win 24-21.
